M.2 PCIe (NVMe)
M.2 NVMe SSDs put the drive straight on the PCIe bus, and the generation of that bus decides what you actually get. Qootec builds both: a Gen4 x4 2280 module reaching up to 7,400 MB/s in capacities from 128GB to 2TB, and a Gen3 x4 NVMe 1.3 module (QM2E3LM20XXXC) for boards that top out at Gen3. Both are 22 × 80 mm, rated 0°C to 70°C, with a three-year warranty.
Will a Gen4 drive work in a Gen3 slot? Yes — it just runs at Gen3 speed, so pay for Gen4 only when the board can use it. Every module is speed-benchmarked and burn-in tested in the Shenzhen factory we’ve run since 2014. For a SATA-only board see 2.5-inch SATA; for appliances and embedded builds the commercial M.2 NVMe line and the wider Qootec SSD range cover the same footprint at tighter tolerances.
